Year eight proudly display their certificates from the Young Writers Guild for having their poems selected for publication in the most recent YWG publication ‘The Poetry Games.
This was an opportunity for pupils to articulate their ideas with some creative and original poetic work and the competition allowed them to showcase their literary talents. With over 800 entries competition was tough but Yr 8 have made it through to the next round.
Their pieces will be submitted into the next round which means they have a chance to be one of the 12 UK finalists. They were inspired by a range of topics that were generated from class discussions arising from their work on their drama studies and poetic writing studies.
Imagination to the fore, literary devices to the ready – let the games begin!
Finalists will be subject to an online vote off next month. Good luck to all.
All fingers are crossed, as finalists win a Kindle!
