Musings from the Head’s Study – 6th December 2013

Dear Parents,

And so the School accelerates towards the end of term and Christmas (in that order). This week has been the week of the School Play and what a delight that has been. Those of you who came along on one of the three performance nights will know what great fun it was, and so very unlike anything the School has done recently. There were some excellent performances from the characters and a very imaginative use of the Chorus as trees ~ that most essential item in a production entitled Into the Woods.

Massive congratulations to Ahana in Year 9 on being one of the 12 finalists in a national poetry competition. She made it into the top 12 by being chosen out of an entry of 32,000 and is the only London finalist in this year’s Poetry Games. The way the eventual winner is decided is by the number of national votes pledged for each young poet. You can do your bit by voting for her at:

http://www.youngwriters.co.uk/poetry-games-voting.php or

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiiSCHO-yN8

You can vote once a day every day from now till January 17th, so you need to vote for her and keep voting for her until the end of the competition. At the moment she is in the lead ~ lets do what we can to keep it that way. It only takes a moment from your smartphone but it will make all the difference.

And finally: Congratulations to our Junior Netball Team who beat Greycoats this week. The Match report will be coming to the Blog in the near fture.

With best wishes for a  cold but crisp weekend and especially for the MHSPA Christmas
