Dear Parents,
Another busy week has passed and another month flown by. The week started with fundraising. We received a lovely letter from the Cardinal Hume Centre, thanking the Senior Chamber Choir for raising money by singing at Waitrose just before Christmas. You may have seen the blog post and photos of Ines (yr10) having her hair cut off for the Little Princess Trust. A huge congratulations to her, not only for the amount of money that she has raised so far, £1,544.39 ( you can still donate at http://www.justgiving.com/Ines-Bunge) but also because I know a lot of us would find it very difficult to part company with so much hair.
Over 50% of the school continue to participate in extracurricular sporting activities and fixtures. Although some of the scores are not in our favour, I know that the girls are having lots of fun. As they say ‘It’s the taking part that counts……’. Something new this week was the Sportshall Athletics Festival which saw a number of our yr7 and 8’s running, jumping and throwing. It is a Kensington and Chelsea Borough competition and we came second out of the five schools competing. The girls showed quality performances and great displays of sportsmanship at each exciting event.
On Tuesday evening we had the junior and senior informal concert which, as usual, showcased the talents of the whole age range of our girls. The music was diverse, with singing, piano, strings, woodwind and percussion. Well done to all those who took part!
Mr Hegarty and his team of Junior debaters took on Latymer and Twyford schools on Wednesday. They did fantastically well and we have come to the conclusion that we need to toughen up the girls, but in a nice way!
Just to remind you that there are some Tube strikes occurring next week which may affect travel into school. It may be useful to check tfl.gov.uk and necessary to get up slightly earlier!
Have a restful weekend.

O God, I love Thee above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because Thou art all-good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbour as myself for the love of Thee. I forgive all who have injured me, and ask pardon of all whom I have injured.
