Views from the Headmistress’ study – 9th January 2015

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year and welcome back to the Spring Term 2015. Thank you once again for the very many Christmas gifts.  It was most kind and I know that they were thoroughly enjoyed over the festive period. 6

I would like to introduce some new members of staff to you all. Caroline Rogers has joined the Science Department, Caroline Maher has joined the Drama Department and Sophie Siem will be teaching History of Art and Classics. Dakoda has returned from her maternity leave and will be back dancing with the girls.

Year 11 are doing their Mock GCSEs at present so are not all in School all of the time and, as I write, we have the potential Year 7’s for the Class of 2015 sitting the Consortium Entrance Examination. Good luck to them and our Year 11’s. In order to host all of the girls for the examination, the Year 7 & Year 8 have spent the morning down at Battersea Park enjoying hockey, netball and football sessions.

Clubs and Activities are underway and some new ones have appeared on the weekly schedule; loom band, clay modelling and coding. What fun the girls can have at lunchtime! Mr Anstice will be recruiting girls, parents and staff for the Easter Choral concert, so watch this space to see what you can be part of at the end of this term. The House Competitions are growing in number and this term sees the addition of ‘A Way With Words’, MFL Challenge, Maths Quiz, Drama Competition and Whacky Olympics, alongside the regulars for the Spring Term; Countdown, The Tenner Challenge and the Talent competition.

Another busy term ahead of us! Keep reading my views for all the latest news.

Have a lovely weekend

Mrs Amanda Leach
