Ms. Crowder’s Year 9 Biology class have been learning about the nervous system and reflexes. They performed a practical to determine the sensitivity of various patches of skin, such as their finger tips and their forearms. They also experimented to find the effect of caffeine on their reaction time. However, the girls’ favorite part of the lesson involved building a model neuron out of sweets. The end results were quite detailed and clearly showed some of the different structures of a nerve cell.
