After four and a half weeks of term, we can see the distant light of half term approaching, but that is not slowing us down!
Mrs Taylor and Miss Jackson took their GCSE students to see The Woman In Black at the Fortune Theatre. For those of you who have never seen the performance it tells the story of ageing Arthur Kipps, a lawyer, who is tortured by the harrowing events that befell his past 30 years prior. In an effort to rid his inner demons, Arthur employs an actor to help tell his story. Arthur’s chilling past soon unravels on stage to reveal a series of chilling and eerie events that left the More House drama students gasping in fear. Mrs Taylor and Miss Jackson were not only impressed by the performance but they were also immensely impressed with the way in which the girls conducted themselves during their trip and the questions that they asked during the workshop.
We had a victorious week with the Netball teams:
U12A beat Queen’s Gate A, 4-3. Player of the Match was Millie who scored an amazing winning goal from the outside of the D!
U12B beat Queen’s Gate B, 2-0. Player of the Match was Marie who dominated the centre court. Well done, Year 7 for playing so well in your first matches!
In the U15 Netball League the Y9’s beat Portland Place 20-9. Player of the Match was Janice for her determination throughout the game. What a fantastic score!
On Thursday evening the school was buzzing with visitors who came to Open Evening in order to catch a glimpse of all the wonderful things that we do. I have had many emails from our guests thanking us for such an enjoyable and informative evening. It is lovely to hear the girls proudly talk about their school and all the wonderful things they are involved with. I heard one visitor say to his guide ‘Well, I’m sold and I haven’t even seen everything yet!’
This week is full of theatre trips, netball fixtures, music tour choir and ‘Guys and Dolls’ rehearsals. Don’t forget to buy your tickets for the New York Music Tour fundraiser on Tuesday- all are welcome, even if your daughter is not going.
