Dear Parents,

So, the Autumn Term is over and what an amazing time all has had. In the New Year, look out for More Insight, which reminds us of the numerous opportunities, lifelong spiritual journeys, memorable trips near and far and the phenomenal successes and achievements of our girls. I would like to thank all the staff, parents and girls for making this happen.

In the final week the scores for the Inter House Netball competition have been added up and it was a very close competition amongst all the year groups. Miss Minto and Miss Dennis would like to congratulate the Year 10’s for their sportsmanship. Well done to Santiago who were victorious this year.

Mr Anstice took his team of carol singers off to our local Waitrose, where we entertained the shoppers for an hour with a selection of carols and raised over £115 for The Kensington and Chelsea Foundation, Winter Warmth campaign.

The Sixth Form helped The Lullaby Trust at their Christmas Carol Service; ushering guests to their seats, giving out programmes, and serving refreshments. We had a lovely email from them, well done to the Sixth Form!

‘We want to thank you and all your students for their AMAZING help last night. We have had the most wonderful feedback on how professional, helpful and friendly they were from guests and staff alike. I do hope that they enjoyed it and I know at times it was hard work but they all rose to the challenge!
We are absolutely thrilled to have raised over £10,500 and thank you so much for helping us to do this. The money raised last night will enable us to continue to fund research into Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, support bereaved families through our helpline and Care of Next Infant Scheme and promote our safer sleep message.
Once again thank you and your students so much for their help. I do hope you have a lovely festive break.
Best wishes’

More’s Household have been to the National Theatre to have a talk about the Jane Eyre production which they shall be going to see in the New Year. They were also treated to a tour of the set and backstage.

The Christmas Concert at St Mary’s always gets me into the Christmas spirit and this year was no exception. The girls were incredible in their singing, playing, reading and poetry performances. There were many moments to reflect on the meaning of Christmas but also to appreciate the hard work and dedication the girls always put into everything that they do. Many parents commented on the standard of their performances but also how lovely it was that the girls were enjoying entertaining us.

We held our end of term Carol Service in the intimate surroundings of the Dining Room. The Chamber choir and Senior Consort sang beautifully and it is always a symbolic service, as we light the Advent candles and remember the Christmas story.

No wonder we need a rest! Thank you from all at More House for the wonderful gifts that we received. I can see a few walks in the country are going to be needed!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from us all.

This was our blessing at the Carol Service, which I send out to all of you and your families;

May you be filled with the wonder of Mary, the obedience of Joseph, the joy of the angels, the eagerness of the shepherds, the determination of the magi, and the peace of the Christ Child. And may Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit bless us now and forever. Amen
