This is the last full week before the Easter holidays and we are still going strong! School has been buzzing with activity and we’re sure it’s only going to get busier as we approach the end of term.
Here are some highlights from the past week at More House:
First off, congratulations Lilli Zee for being awarded Special Recognition in the Art Explosion exhibition and competition, for her entry ‘American Heroes’. The event was held at the Chelsea Theatre and was sponsored by the Saatchi Gallery – a prestigious event to be involved in!
Well done to all the other girls who submitted their artworks, including Juliette Clarke, Stella Forcast, and Georgie Dyer. The art department are very proud!
The Year 8s had their pamper night last Friday and it was a great success! Twenty-four bubbly girls enjoyed their evening of chill-out and party.
Once again, the Year 11s and Sixth Form created a fun atmosphere, with dancing, games, karaoke, and a screening of St Trinian’s. They also made sure there was a good stash of teenage haute-cuisine of choice: pizza, chocolate, and other unhealthy snacks!
Well done to everyone involved for producing such a fun-filled event and many thanks to Mrs Hunt, Mrs Mullins, Miss Wijewardana, and Ms Stojanovic for giving up their Friday night!
Year 7 Science Projects
I was invited to listen to the Year 7s present their recent science projects on Sound and Light. They had to pick a song, design costumes for their performers, and construct the staging whilst examining the science behind it all. They were very knowledgeable and presented in a clear and concise manner. An impressive study!
Wear A Hat Day
Today we have been donning our hats to raise awareness for brain tumour research. There was an impressive turnout, featuring an abundance of baseball caps, fedoras, bowler hats, beanies, birthday cake hats, and a lovely Easter bonnet. We hope lots of money was raised for this excellent cause!
Goodbye, More House Chicks!
It was time to say goodbye to our resident chicks this week – but do not worry, as there will be regular updates. Myself, Miss Tahaan, Dunia, and Lilly Anderson each took some home. I did get some strange looks on the train last night as I carefully carried the box back!
Easter Choral Concert
Finally, there is a very important rehearsal on Sunday for the More House Combined Choir in preparation for the Easter Choral concert on Monday evening, in Cadogan Hall. I look forward to seeing you all there for a performance featuring music by Vivaldi, Tippett, Durufle, and a new commission for the Senior Chamber Choir by local composer Michael Jeffrey! Buy your tickets here.
Have a lovely weekend!
