Dear Parents,
During the pre-exam service last week, we were asked to write a prayer for all those taking exams this term. Mr Green has put up a wonderful display in the Chapel of all our thoughts and prayers. For the next few weeks, I will pick some of these for my weekly newsletter.
After the excitement of last week’s Inspection, we’ve had more excitement with this week’s Coffee Mornings! These events involve hosting prospective parents throughout the week and giving them a glimpse of life at More House. It was a pleasure talking to them about my wonderful role as Headmistress and our incredible school!
I would particularly like to thank our lovely Year 7s, who did a wonderful job talking so confidently to the parents during these events. All the parents commented on how lovely the girls were, with one parent taking the time to write and say, ‘It was evident looking around the school that More House really is a big family, where the girls are happy, confident, and thriving in their special way, whether academically, in the Arts or in Sport.’ How true!

Geography Trip
On Wednesday 3rd May, a group of excited GCSE Geographers met at Paddington station to catch a train to Taunton. They were treated to three dry – albeit cool – Spring days, the perfect conditions for some hardcore fieldwork. The newly refurbished Nettlecombe Court Field Studies Centre provided an idyllic setting in a beautiful remote rural location. The girls carried out fieldwork in preparation for the new 9-1 Geography GCSE, which will be examined next summer.

RS Revision Class
On Friday, our Year 13 RS students spent the day with noted academic Peter Baron who gave them an intensive all-day Philosophy & Ethics revision session. Peter was extremely impressed with their knowledge and application of the syllabus and the girls were grateful for the added clarity and revision strategies that Peter delivered.
That’s it for this week. Next week we’ll be reporting on the exciting trips to Imperial, taking place this afternoon!
A reminder about some important upcoming dates: on the 17th, some of the More’s Household girls will be off on a trip to Cambridge. We also have a Music Competition happening on the 18th!
Until next week,
Mrs Leach
Great stuff as ever, More House!
