Views From Our Study – Spring Half Term

Dear Parents,

We’ve had a busy first week back and an even busier week to come – read about this week’s trips and successes and next week’s events!

MFL Trip to Salzburg

Just before the half-term break, a group of GCSE German students ventured to snowy Salzburg to visit a grammar school, as part of an exchange programme. They attended lessons for two days. Miss Brown reported back that the students coped very well with the lessons and understood much more than they thought they would!

Outside of their lesson time, they were lucky enough to see ‘Bilder einer Ausstellung’ performed by the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra at the Salzburg Festival Hall. They were also able to pack in a mountain walk and a bit of ice skating.

We look forward to welcoming the Austrian pupils to London next year!

Sport Report

Huge congratulations to Connie B in year 11, who competed in a ski competition in Chamonix, France. She not only went through to the finals, but came an impressive 7th out of 50 in one race and 28th out of 50 in the second race. She finished 12th overall! Well done Connie!

This weekend, Aoife C in year 11 will be racing in Hammersmith Head on Sunday, which is over 4K. The race starts at 11:00 AM from Chiswick Bridge and they will be in boat 138. Good luck Aoife!

Woman in Black

Our GCSE and A-level drama students went off to see a production of The Woman in Black at the Fortune Theatre on Wednesday. The girls were delighted, if not a little spooked, by the dramatic effects! The students will be writing about the production in their examinations and have taken some detailed notes to help them. The girls represented the school very well and the drama teachers were very proud of their behaviour!

Here they are doing jazz hands before heading off on their trip.
