A lot of goodbyes this week… and a lot of fundraising coming up!
Race for Life – Fundraising
A massive thank you to everyone who signed up to take part in this year’s Race for Life – we’ll have more than 80 staff, students, parents, and friends involved in this amazing event!
We’d now like to take this opportunity to ask for your generous donations to Cancer Research UK. This is an incredibly important cause – help us beat cancer by sponsoring our run. In the past, we have always exceeded our £1,000 target by a huge margin. Let’s make 2018 our best year yet!
You can donate through our JustGiving page. Thank you in advance for your support!
Well done to Izzy L in year 7 for representing Kensington and Chelsea in the London Mini Marathon!
And congratulations to Eleanor Loo, our U13 British Youth Fencing Champion, who will be handing back her title (she is the only British fencer to have won this title on two occasions) as she goes on to compete at a higher level. We wish her all the best at U14 level!
Year 11 Speed Dating Revision
For their last class of the year, year 11 students took part in a “speed dating” revision session in science. This saw them rotating around the room to fire quick revision questions at each other in an effort to practice their recall skills in a time-pressured environment. Who said studying can’t be both practical AND fun?
Good Luck Year 11
On that note, we would like to wish all our year 11 students a massive “good luck” as they go off on study leave today. They’ve worked extremely hard over the past few years and should be proud of their efforts. We hope the next month goes smoothly for each and every one of them.
Talk on Eating Disorders
Dr Nihara Krause will be returning to More House to deliver another talk on teenagers’ mental health. After her popular talk during Wellbeing Week, we’re looking forward to her return on Monday 21st May. She will be giving a talk entitled ‘Eating Disorders and Body Positivity’ in the afternoon to the students and parents are invited to join us for a 6 PM session.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Miss Brown: email@example.com.
After a lovely week watching them hatch and grow, it was sadly time to say goodbye to the chicks. Seven went off with various students and three went back to Living Eggs to be re-homed. We enjoyed every cuddle and they’ll be much missed, but we know they’re going off to wonderful new homes with Yesim B, Lottie C, and Elizabeth A.
Support Mr La Frenais!
The fundraising spirit at More House is as prevalent with our staff as it is with our students. Last weekend, Mr La Frenais swam 2.5 kilometres as part of a national charity event to raise money for Cancer Research UK!
You can help Mr La Frenais fundraise for this amazing cause by donating directly to his fundraising page here. JustGiving sends your donation directly to Cancer Research UK, Marie Curie, and the Swimathon Foundation, and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer – so your donation is worth even more.
Thank you for your support!
