14/12/18 – Merry Christmas!

Final Newsletter of the Autumn Term

Once again, More House has ushered in the new academic year with a packed and successful first term. We are always amazed by how much the girls can achieve in a few short months. This was most evident at our annual Prize Giving Ceremony, where we celebrated our pupils’ successes across the whole school, and we were especially thrilled to have Baroness Benjamin of Beckenham share such an inspirational speech on this occasion.

There is always much to celebrate at More House, both in and out of the classroom. While it is imperative that we make every minute count in the classroom, we feel that many essential life skills the girls will need in life are best taught outside the classroom. The girls throw themselves into an astonishing number of extracurricular activities, where they learn soft skills such as resilience, grit, and social and emotional intelligence. This manifested itself in the superb drama production, magical Christmas concert, numerous day and residential trips, inter-house competitions, and many sporting triumphs. The girls’ ability to balance their academic work with all these activities is a skill that will undoubtedly serve them well in later life. Well done, girls!

More House staff play a huge role in the girls’ successes and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for their hard work, commitment, and enthusiasm throughout this first term.

Finally, we would like to wish you all peace and joy this Christmas and New Year!
